Some of the most impressive parts of a home are the ones you'll never see once construction is finished. This cantilevered corner is a perfect example. It creates the appearance of an open, floating corner while the structural support is carefully engineered behind the scenes.

The beams connect through a concealed steel post that carries the load without interrupting the clean architectural lines. Once drywall is installed, the structure disappears, leaving behind a seamless open corner that feels effortless even though there's a lot of engineering making it possible.

Details like this are what make modern custom homes so unique. They're not just design features. They're carefully planned structural solutions that allow for larger glass, cleaner lines, and more open living spaces while maintaining the strength and durability the home needs.

If you're planning a custom home with modern architectural features, send us a DM and let's talk about your vision.

The finished project is what everyone sees.

This is part of what they don’t.

Every project requires planning, communication, problem solving, scheduling, and a team working together long before the next phase ever happens in the field.

These meetings aren’t the glamorous part of construction, but they’re an important part of how we keep projects moving and continue getting better at what we do.

The work behind the work.

Attached casita or detached casita?

Both can serve the same purpose, but they create a very different living experience. An attached casita makes everyday access easier and can feel like a natural extension of the main home. A detached casita gives guests or family more privacy and can make the property feel more like its own little compound.

In Arizona, the better option usually comes down to your lot, how much separation you want, and how you might use the space years from now. A casita could start as a guest house, then become a home office, a space for aging parents, or a more independent home for adult children. We like to think beyond the immediate need before deciding where it belongs on the property.

There really isn’t one right answer. The best casita is the one that fits how you want your property and family to function long term. If you’re considering an attached or detached casita in Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, or Phoenix, DM us and we’ll help you figure out which option makes the most sense for your property.

Another one is rising. 🏗️

Yesterday marked Day 1 of The Boston Rising Project.

What started as conversations, ideas and design is officially moving into construction.

This project will bring a new detached casita, gym + pool house, second-floor flex space, and outdoor living areas to life.

We’ll be sharing the transformation from the first day of demo through the final details.

This is where the vision starts becoming real.

This beam marks the original stopping point of the old carport, and instead of removing it, we made the decision to leave it in place. That choice came down to balancing design goals with structural and engineering requirements.

Removing it would have meant re-engineering part of the roof system and redistributing structural loads, which would have significantly increased both complexity and cost. By working with the existing structure, we were able to avoid unnecessary engineering work while still achieving the functional layout the homeowners needed.

In construction, not every element needs to be changed. Sometimes the best decision is knowing what to keep in place so the project stays efficient without compromising the end result.

If you’re planning a renovation or addition and want to understand where you can save on structural costs, send us a DM and let’s talk about your project.

A great project starts as an idea, but seeing the structure take shape is when the vision begins to feel real. Every stage of construction builds on the last, turning early plans and concepts into a space that will eventually become part of someone’s everyday life.

The early phases of a build are where the foundation for everything else is created. Layout decisions, structural details, and careful coordination all come together to make sure the finished home reflects the original vision.

There’s still a lot ahead, but this is the stage where the project starts to become something you can truly see and experience.

If you're planning a custom home, renovation, or addition and want to understand what’s possible, send us a DM and let’s start exploring your ideas.

We think the best living rooms feel impressive without trying too hard. In this project, the vaulted ceiling and exposed wood beams pull the eye upward, while the stone fireplace gives the room enough weight to keep it feeling grounded. Add warm wood flooring and you get a space that feels refined, but still comfortable enough to actually live in.

The bigger design decision is the connection to the outdoors. Large sliding doors extend the living space into the covered patio and bring natural light deep into the room. In Arizona homes, especially around Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, and Phoenix, that indoor-outdoor relationship can completely change how a home feels and how often the space gets used.

Good luxury home design usually comes down to proportion, materials, and how each space connects to the next. If you're planning a living room renovation or custom home and want a space that feels this open without losing warmth, DM us and we can talk through the possibilities.

This backyard casita was designed as a complete standalone living space with its own kitchen, full bathroom, shower, vanity, illuminated mirror, private bedroom, and a layout centered around comfort and functionality. The bedroom alone spans around 160 square feet with large windows and views that make the space feel much larger than its footprint.

Casitas like this have become extremely popular across Scottsdale because they create flexible living space without requiring a full second home build. Some homeowners use them for guests, others for family, office space, or long-term rental potential. The key is designing the structure so it feels intentional and fully integrated with the main property.

This particular project came in around $400,000, but every property, layout, and level of finish is different. Site conditions, utilities, permitting, and design complexity all play a major role in the final cost.

If you’re wondering what a casita like this could cost on your property, send us a DM and let’s talk through what’s possible for your space.

Arizona may have hot summers, but some of the best months of the year are meant to be enjoyed outside. That's why we design homes that blur the line between indoor and outdoor living instead of treating the backyard as a separate space.

These oversized multi-slide doors make that possible. Even though each panel is incredibly heavy, they're engineered to glide smoothly and can be stacked in different configurations depending on how much of the opening you want to create. It's a feature that adds flexibility while making the home feel brighter, larger, and more connected to the outdoors.

The best indoor-outdoor spaces aren't just about installing large glass doors. They require thoughtful planning, structural coordination, and a layout that makes both spaces work together naturally.

If you're planning a custom home with seamless indoor-outdoor living, send us a DM and let’s talk about your vision.

The finished space gets all the attention, but the real transformation starts long before the final reveal. Every block, measurement, and detail plays a role in creating an outdoor area that is designed to be functional, durable, and built to last.

Behind every beautiful finished project is a process filled with planning, precision, and skilled craftsmanship. From the foundation and structure to the final finishes, each step builds toward a space that feels intentional and connected to the way people want to live.

These behind-the-scenes moments are where the vision starts becoming reality. The final result is exciting, but the work that happens before it is what makes the transformation possible.

If you're thinking about transforming your outdoor space, send us a DM and let’s start planning your project.
