Fyi: Emily was my baby, the youngest of 6, who passed away from a fentanyl overdose in March of 2023. RIP princess 🥰🥹
Emily's passing, due to a fentanyl overdose, was a turning point in my life. As a mother of (6) five, with a grandson and granddaughter to live for, I knew I had to find a way to honor her memory while moving forward. The desire to keep Emily's spirit alive, coupled with the realization that life is unpredictable, pushed me to finally pursue my dream of owning my own business. The suffocating feeling of being confined to an office while grieving led to the birth of My Angel Has Wings, leveraging my partner's experience in roofing and gutters and my ability to learn and adapt we had created Trifecta RGS (roofing and gutters services).
Things were going well at first but they got bad when we were stiffed by a con artist contractor named Daniel Galindo from Mt. Vernon, WA. He stiffed us for $1,750 and apparently has been stiffing customers too. I reported him to L& I, to the BBB, and gave him an honest review on Google. I talked to some attorneys but we didn't have much recourse.
Then my partner's former son in law Jordan Valdez, also from Mt. Vernon, WA whom he'd worked with before and thought he could trust, stiffed him for for $1,300.
Well, you know how they say 3rd time is a charm? He was stiffed a third time by his very own nephews Leonardo and Miguel Blancàs (brothers), from Mt. Vernon, WA as well for a whopping $2,700 and a vehicle. At that point we were pretty much done. My partner started trying to work with others just getting odd jobs here and there afraid to trust anymore contractors because it was too much, it felt like an epidemic.
I was also never able to secure a loan, to be honest I didn't even try because the same year Emily passed I found out my identity had been stolen and my credit had gotten worse because there were things on there that weren't mine. So even though I reported it the credit bureaus didn't fix my credit score, they left it as is which is wrong and dishonest in my opinion. With such a low score I doubted we could secure a loan, even an equipment loan which is what we needed. I tried entering some contests and signing up for grants but never got anywhere and it all just seemed hopeless to be honest.
Mind you during the course of all these things happening we'd been having other hardships as well. We were evicted because we weren't getting paid so we couldn't pay our rent. We went from having tons of tools to hardly any tools because we were robbed. My mom almost died on me from E. Coli poisoning. I had a miscarriage on Christmas Eve during my second trimester because of a fibroid/tumor I have in my uterus. We went from having 5 vehicles to having no vehicles. Some of those were for messed up reasons but I'll discuss those in future posts.
As I've been sitting here writing this article I've been wondering what my niche was going to be. I decided long ago I would write about anything and everything but I believe I've narrowed it down a bit. I'm going to talk about a lot of the things I've experienced in my life that were wrong, unjust, and just plain old terrible. I'm going to be doing a lot of name dropping.
I'm going to warn anyone reading this right now that, though not all, some of my articles will talk about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and my own spiritual journey. Up until a year ago I was still on the fence about God, but not anymore. Some articles may p**s people off, some might make people laugh, some might make people think and so on.
At the end of the day my goal is to hold people/businesses accountable for their dishonesty/corruption especially when they're hurting innocent people in the process, to teach whatever I know that could possibly help someone else, to inform those who may not be aware, to inspire, and to open eyes, hearts, and minds. Also to share my ideas, my humble opinions, and hopefully every now and then a bit of humor because I really love to laugh.
My intention is not to hurt anyone. No one is perfect, I certainly am not. I always try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt until they prove otherwise. Plus, there's also a bit of a gray area where things can get a bit foggy sometimes. But there are some lines you just don't cross period. I'm not here to judge anyone but if what they're doing is legal and not wrong then they should have no problem with me talking about it.
