Excited to be involved in this great effort to save a piece of the history of ordinary people.
Eva Falk built this house during the Great Depression using stones gathered from Alki beach. Read all about its history and the campaign to find it a new home out of the way of pending development.

Footnote: as an intern at my new job in Seattle I was researching the CC&Rs for expanding a house in one of Seattle’s gated neighborhoods. To my naive shock, There on the page was the clause that Black and Asian people were not to be on the property unless employed by the homeowner. Unenforceable but still there in the docs. And now thinking back, might be why, when I went to measure the place with another female intern who was Of Japanese descent, the gatekeeper made us call the office to provide proof that we were Architects.
