One-hundred-fourteen new and affordable homes are serving the Yesler Terrace neighborhood in Seattle!

Our team is proud to have served as the GC- transforming this site into Sawara - a vibrant new affordable community designed to accommodate a broad range of households from individuals to families with a diverse mix of one- to four-bedroom units.

Sawara provides wraparound services including an adjacent community pocket park, a central courtyard with integrated play areas, and common spaces throughout, including a library, built for connection for our neighbors to thrive.

New renovations completed in 2023 and 2024, Eastern Hotel and NP Hotel are both historically significant buildings in the CID. Renovations included seismic, elevator, and energy updates, commercial renovation of Maneki restaurant, and completing new finishes in all 47 affordable units in Eastern Hotel and 62 affordable units in NP Hotel.

Built in 1914, NP Hotel originally contained 130 single rooms and 2 street level storefronts. An anchor in the neighborhood, the NP hotel was a popular stopping point for Asian immigrants arriving by rail in Seattle.

Built between 1909-1911, the Eastern Hotel played an important social role within the CID Community and housed a series of Seattle’s Chinese and Japanese retail businesses and Filipino cannery workers.

Marpac is proud to continually build and support community led and directed development that invests in the future of the CID and Asian American Communities.

Completing major renovations in 2008, The Wing Luke Museum renovation included 3 floors of contemporary galleries, a structural steel seismic system, and restoring portions of the existing structure to serve as historic immersion tours.

Established in 1967, The Wing Luke Museum is an art and history museum that focuses on the culture, art and history of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders through community-driven exhibitions and programs. The museum also serves as an economic anchor for CID small businesses, sharing the layers of history and significance of these local places.

Marpac is proud to continually build and support community led and directed development that invests in the future of the CID and AANHPI Communities.
