Peach Court Garden ADU — a modern renovation of a 1910 Seattle Craftsman house with landscape connections on all three levels. The kitchen opens onto a garden terrace with new large panoramic doors. An unfinished basement is converted into a new garden level ADU with a sunken courtyard. The result is a balance of old and new, breathing life into a historic Seattle home.

Check out the latest interview on Western Art & Architecture Magazine where Matt and Jody discuss how architecture and landscape architecture can work as a unified experience rather than separate disciplines.

Laurelhurst Midcentury — This large scale remodel of a mid-century modern house by Ibsen Nelson opens up the living and dining areas to take full advantage of the lush landscape and views toward Lake Washington. Paving and decking are brought into equilibrium for indoor outdoor flow of wood and concrete surfaces on both the ground and walls. A central atrium garden has subtle Japanese influences, and the reflecting pool and fountain create a focal point for the house that can engage all the senses.

A historic 1908 Seattle Craftsman was expanded for a growing young family of six. The new main and upper-floor extension maximizes living space allowed by code on this small urban parcel. A modern take on classic bay windows creates nooks and cozy places for children and parents, and outdoor space created in the compact backyard lives large.
