I wanted to share our program we had with Dan Britton as well. Most of us didn't think about fall gardening and Dan was able to take us there and explain how much more beneficial it is vs spring gardening. We learned a lot and didn't realize there are less bugs to contend with as the fall season comes around. Dan is with Ozark Prairie MGs and is a book of knowledge, no matter what it might be about. His chapter is amazing and my husband and I love to visit and learn.

I'm really looking forward to this fun and interesting program. We won't have a meeting in August because of all the volunteering we do at the Mo St Fair but In September, I'm sure we will grow in much more knowledge about plants and insects. Every living thing has a purpose. Some I think we could do without ( like Japanese Beatles) Anyway, I know this will be a really good presentation. Hope to see our Show Me MGs Pettis County Chapter there in September.

I love being a Master Gardener and having so many opportunities to learn and share. We've gotten to know so many great people who have the same interests here in our Pettis County Chapter. In September we get to learn about bugs from a Master Naturalist named Paul Landkamer. His program will be Practical Uses For Plants and Insects. I've met him before and I think he even has some edible recipes! (Ha!) This last program was on pollinators by Travis Harper who is an Agronomy Specialist. Travis covered many pollinators and some that were mentioned I really hadn't thought about. We have a wonderful lady, Jean Eckstein that does such an excellent job of finding very informative programs for us. I know she works really hard to get these presentations. If you aren't already a Master Gardener but love plants, you might consider joining a chapter in your area.
