In Forest Highlands, the ponderosas are right outside the window, so we wanted the kitchen to feel connected to them.

The island is dark stained knotty alder, warm and a little rugged. Everything around it is white painted shaker, running all the way to the ceiling with glass-front uppers to keep it light. The pulls tie it all together.

Giant island in lieu of a dining table? Yes please....

Sometimes, a space calls for a little extra character. 🪵✨
This kitchen features a hand-applied, artisan-distressed finish from Dura Supreme Cabinetry in Minnesota. Every gouge, scrape, and worn edge is carefully crafted to look completely authentic—giving the room that warm, "been there forever" feel.

Open a drawer though and you get the feel of the industry’s best drawer guides and hinges, it functions like a kitchen that's anything but old.

We especially loved designing around the existing character and structural elements, like those incredible, exposed timber beams. 😍

The beauty of rift cut White Oak is it's grain consistency. You get the warmth and weight of real wood without the grain structure getting too loud and taking over the party.
