In a 100+ year old building in Bristol with basement flooding problems, we jack-hammered the concrete floors, dug by hand/shovel down about 8", then we brought in stone, installed a FRENCH DRAIN, including 2 sump pits and professional-grade pumps that we routed outside and then poured a new concrete floor, eliminating a long-standing issue with this historic building.

For new construction, we often fill the entire basement with stone and run a perimiter drain along the inside of the foundation wall, to a sump pit (French drain) in case its necessary to prevent flooding in the basement of a new home. We can also retrofit and install a FRENCH DRAIN in an existing home!
