Just a couple of reminders with the possible wintery ice /freezing rain that we may get this weekend and the weather being in the teens next week …keep your faucets dripping if you don’t have sufficient insulation under the house, it’s going to below freezing for a couple of days. Please find some kind of warmth for your animals if they must be outside, and empty dog house is colder inside than out. Get some cedar shavings, pine shavings, blankets, something to keep them warm. Put a sheet or blanket over your windshield to keep ice/snow from freezing to it overnight if you must drive the next day, some of us have no other choice but to have to drive to work. If you have no other choice and must drive, drive slowly, careful, and allow much needed room for stopping and slowing down. Make sure phones are charged in case you need assistance or help. If power lines are down, do not attempt to drive over them, they may be live. If you lose power, please be patient. Go to someone’s house that has power if you can, (especially if you have little ones). There will tireless lineman, electricians, plumbers, first responders, etc working as hard, fast and safely as they can. It’s not the end of the world, the power is just out. If you have power and must use electric heaters, Do not use drop cords to plug in space heaters, electric heaters, etc, plug them directly into the wall receptacle and check the cord periodically, if it’s hot, unplug it, we don’t want to be starting fires. Save on your electric bill, wear an extra layer of clothing and turn your thermostat down a little. Be safe and keep a check on your people! We all need each other in a time like this. Lend a helping hand if you can! We are all just trying to get through life.
