Congratulations Katie!! 🎈

This week’s Student Spotlight shines on Katie Peters!

Katie has been part of the WCDS family since PreK and is now thriving as a 6th grader. Over the years, she has made her mark both in and out of the classroom. She is an active member of Chess Club and FCA and has proudly represented Wayne Country Day School on the tennis and soccer teams.

When asked what she loves most about WCDS, Katie shared that it’s a place where “you can be yourself.” We love that she recognizes and values the supportive community around her!

Outside of school, Katie plays club soccer for the Strike Eagles and enjoys some incredibly creative hobbies. She loves crocheting and woodworking — even building a remote holder for her dad and a cell phone stand for her mom. How impressive is that? Her creativity and initiative truly set her apart.

Katie is also a big fan of the Warriors series by Erin Hunter and is currently exploring how to start her own dog-walking business for the summer. With her strong love for animals, it’s no surprise that she hopes to become an ecosystem engineer one day.

Fun fact: Katie’s household is full of life! She and her family have three dogs, three cats, four fish, four snails, and even a bearded dragon!

Katie’s uniqueness, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit make us incredibly proud. She is a wonderful example of confidence, curiosity, and character in action. We can’t wait to see all she accomplishes next!
