Boot check ✔️🥾
Are you wearing the proper footwear for your tasks at hand?
Our crews are required to wear steel-toed boots to protect them from injuries.

Here are 3 things to check off when buying new shoes or work boots.
"1. Safety. The shoes should be strong enough to protect your toes and feet from falling objects. Or from objects that may roll over your feet or toes. Look for features such as safety toe caps, metatarsal guards to protect the top of your foot, puncture-resistant soles and special construction materials. The material of your shoes’ soles is also important. Features such as slip-resistance or shock absorption can go a long way towards keeping you safe and comfortable.

2. Comfort and support. Protective shoes should also support your feet during a full day of work. Otherwise, you may face other problems, such as heel pain, that are associated with all-day standing. You should also consider the temperature at your job. If you work in hot or humid environments, you’ll want moisture-wicking footwear that can keep your feet dry, preventing rubbing and protect you from athlete’s foot and other fungal infections.

3. Fit. If your protective work shoes pinch or leave too much room for your feet, you’ll raise your risk for issues such as hammertoes, bunions, corns and callouses. You should be able to wiggle your toes without feeling any pressure. When trying on your shoes, wear the socks you usually wear to work. Also, make sure your entire foot is covered—high top boots are usually the safest shoe style. " - Westfield Foot & Ankle

Keep an eye out for safety! 👷😎🙉
Our vision and hearing are crucial for work and personal life. To keep them safe, you should wear your PPE! Glasses or face shield and ear muffs or ear plugs are essential to keeping your audio and visual senses protected! 👂👓
We are working with lots of different materials and in different environments. Staying protected keeps you on the job and home to your families.
If you work digitally, practice the 20-20-20 rule. Every 20 minutes, take a 20-second break to look at something at least 20 feet away. 👀

As a youngster, Jeff said he practically lived in a sandbox. “I always was interested in moving dirt around,” “But now I’ve moved into much bigger sandboxes.” These days, those “sandboxes” include the telecommunication, utility, wireless phone, power and civil infrastructure sectors, plus niche specialty projects."
To commemorate the start of Jeff's sandbox interest. Elexco is going to be sponsoring a giant sandbox for the kids to enjoy at BurgerFest!
This sandbox wouldn't be complete without Fabick CAT for donating some awesome sand toys for the kids to play with! Thank you Fabick CAT!

Proper head protection is required on all job sites to protect our heads from potential injuries. 👷

Hard hats act as a barrier between you and the hazards around us on the jobsite. They are designed and constructed with specifically rated materials to resist blows and absorb shock. There are different styles and type for each type of work being completed on the jobsite. We offer 2 different kinds here for our crews to help best fit the needs of each employee and what is needed on each jobsite.

Our hard hats are also a great place to indicate each team’s members accomplishments such as OSHA 10 certified, CDL certified, and equipment types of equipment that each crew member has been trained for. 💪🚚⛑️

June is National Safety Month! We are going to touch on all the components of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) throughout the month! 🦺👷

🫶 Work safely and protect your hands! The human hands are an exceptional feature to help complete our construction projects and our most important tools for interacting with the world around us. Every day we use our hands for almost every task which can make them very vulnerable to injury while working on any project.

The correct pair of gloves can protect your hands out on job sites or in the shop. We offer about 6 different types of gloves to our crews to make sure all our hands stay safe no matter what we are working on, working with, or type weather climates our hands can be exposed to.

Keeping our gloves free of damage such as holes, loose fitting or uncomfortable to wear, would mean that it is the best time to replace them with a new pair. Safety first! 🧤🚧
