✨ A Beautiful Transformation at One of Glade Springs’ Most Iconic Homes! ✨
Today, we wrapped up a landscaping project that was truly special to our team!
The Thewes residence, built in the mid-1970s, is one of Glade Springs’ most recognizable homes. While we’ve had the privilege of working with Ms. Thewes on various projects since 2021, the home’s original landscaping had never received a complete renovation; until now.
For this project, we were given a budget and essentially a wide-open canvas. Our goal was to design something that complemented the beautiful French-inspired character and architecture of the home while giving the property a fresh, timeless look.
We carefully selected a combination of trees, shrubs, and flowering perennials that would enhance the home without taking away from its unique character.
One of our favorite parts of the entire project is the far corner of the property. Years ago, Mr. Thewes had pushed several large boulders over the hillside and into the woods. We were able to recover those same boulders, bring them back up from the hillside, and give them a new purpose. We stacked them to create a natural boulder wall and finished the area with a beautiful weeping cedar as the centerpiece. It turned into one of the most unique features of the entire landscape!
Once the planting was complete, we finished the beds with medium river rock and touches of black mulch to create contrast and bring everything together.
And sometimes it’s the little things that finish a project, after stepping back and looking at the completed landscape, we realized the existing light posts needed a fresh coat of paint. So today, we took care of those as the final touch!
A huge thank you to Ms. Thewes for trusting HighLine Landscaping with such a special property and giving us the opportunity to breathe new life into the landscape surrounding this beautiful home.
We’re incredibly proud of how this one came together, and we hope the Thewes family enjoys it for many years to come!
