Because of the rise in the price of copper, and several failed attempts of ordering sheets of hammered copper, the home owners decided to let me try my hand at metal smithing and turn sheets of aluminum into hammered copper. They were over the moon with the results! Don't think anyone would ever know it's not cooper unless you told them!

Finally got it all done but still waiting on the copper for the range hood. Everything was made custom in shop except the island legs. The customer still has to move some lighting and install the third pendant light above the island. The feet I made for the columns give a more pronounced base and look like they were ment to be. Also so happy with the dishwasher panel. You'd never know.

I got a little further today. Range hood set and columns scribed to fit the irregular brick wall. We decided to push the hood up as far as possible so I have to construct a foot for ether side column, and add a spacer on top to back the ceiling trim to give it a more built in appearance. Definitely the right call.

Getting this massive butcher block countertop fabricated up before the island gets broke down for finish. The size and weight come with a few challenges. Lucky I had grandpa's old plane to get things straightened out.
