Installing shingle roofing in cold weather can lead to several issues that make it less than ideal. First, the low temperatures can cause the shingles to become brittle and less flexible, making them more prone to cracking or breaking during installation. Additionally, the adhesive used to bond the shingles may not work effectively in cold weather, leading to a compromised seal. This can result in reduced durability and increased risk of leaks.
If you're considering roofing work, it's best to wait for more favorable weather conditions. As soon as temperatures rise, we will shift our focus back to metal roofing, which tends to perform better in various weather conditions.
