Today we’re taking care of a maintenance re-coat with a 1:1 mix of Boodge Clear and Transparent Red Cedar. In the first and second slides you can see where the new stain is and what the aged, fading stain looks like before fresh oil being applied. Giving these logs a “drink” (specifically with Boodge Oil) allows for a pigment buildup that will not only protect the logs better and longer, but make the maintenance in following years easier and more manageable.

Slideshow of the progress in Birchwood as the boys chip away at a full blast and buff restoration. Stripping off the old Sikkens style stain to reveal some fresh golden wood that’s just asking to be soaked in Boodge (obviously).

Nothing beats the satisfaction of a good before-and-after.
We took advantage of the beautiful weather in central Wisconsin today to stain this old school cabin with none other than our favorite, Boodge Oil!
