Just another reason it’s imperative that the people you have working on your house know what they are doing. Now this is a VERY old install but the wire ran for these receptacles is several sizes too small. I’d say it’s roughly 18 gauge which is fine for a doorbell but not a receptacle with space heaters plugged in. This client is lucky to have not started a larger house fire than it did.

PSA don’t call another contractor when you have already agreed to a price with one. Because when you decide to “shop” around after coming to an agreement with us. We go source material and use our time to complete your job only to be called last minute and tell us never mind. That’s a terrible way to conduct business. All new business through Bobs Electric will require signing a contract to agreed upon work with a penalty if you the customer decides to go else where after coming to an agreement with our company. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Calls have been pouring in please be patient with us we are doing as much as we can to get people ready for oge to hook power back up. That being said we are trying to prioritize the most vulnerable population ie people in oxygen and other health devices that are needed 24/7. I know we can’t help everyone, but we are doing all that we can!

As a local electrician in the Shawnee and surrounding areas the damage we experienced last night was devastating. Just a reminder as you reach out to professionals to get you back up and running make sure the people that are coming to help are licensed bonded and insured. This goes for any services! These are tough times, be careful of who you let “help” might cost you more in the long run to go cheap.
