Last weeks freeze likely impacted your lawn and landscape plants! Just as the lawn was greening up and coming out of winter dormancy, mother nature sent us a hard freeze with temps dropping to 10 degrees. This has caused the tender new growth to brown, resembling disease or drought stress. Don't worry, it is neither. It is simply freeze damage and will grow out of it within a few weeks as lawns are mowed and spring rains occur. Plants that have begun adding new growth and blooming will show signs of damage as well, but again is likely not fatal. Generally worst case scenario is the loss of a bloom cycle, but the leaf tissue will almost always recover with some time. As always if you have any questions feel free to reach out to us. The good news is Spring is officially here and with that these low temp. swings will become increasingly less likely!
