I was approached by an individual asking for a quote so I went out to the address provided and inspected the property.

After giving this individual the price he agreed to move forward and pay me by check. He then asked for my bank information. So I searched for the property and found it was owned by an LLC and he couldn't verify who the owner was.

Did you hear that racket early yesterday morning? Olathe, Overland Park, Shawnee, and Lenexa were hit with serious severe weather, including high winds and significant hail. We've had confirmed reports of hail ranging in size from 3/4" (penny size) to 1 3/4" (golf ball size)!

​Many homeowners assume that unless they see massive, car-denting hail, their roof is fine. This is a common and costly misconception, especially when combined with very high winds like we just experienced.

​💨 ​Small-to-medium hail might seem harmless, but when powerful wind gusts "sandblast" your roof with these stones, they cause significant accelerated damage:

✅️ ​Granule Loss: This is the most common and often invisible damage. High-velocity impact strips the protective mineral granules off your asphalt shingles.

✅️ Wind Lift: While the hail was striking, high winds were likely lifting and curling shingles, creating entry points for water.

✅️ ​Sun Exposure: Granules are your roof's "sunscreen." Once they are gone, the underlying asphalt is exposed directly to UV rays, causing it to crack, split, and deteriorate rapidly.

✅️ ​Reduced Roof Life: Even if you don't see leaks today, this accelerated granule loss can shave 5-10 years off your roof’s life if it’s not properly identified and repaired.
