Congratulations to the State Bank of De Pere in Brown County for recently being added to the National Register. We are proud to have had the opportunity to help make this happen.
Originally built in 1877, the building became home to the State Bank of De Pere in 1902. For decades, the bank served local residents and businesses, offering savings accounts and loans that helped support the growing community. At a time when banking options were limited, it became one of De Pere's most trusted financial institutions and remained a presence in the city until the 1980s.
In 1904, the building received its distinctive new front design, created by noted Green Bay architect Henry Foeller. Today, that impressive historic appearance remains one of the building's most recognizable features and makes it a standout example of early 20th-century architecture in Brown County.
Although parts of the building have changed over the years, it continues to reflect its important role in De Pere's history and remains a lasting reminder of the city's growth and development.
