About Kompan’s Home Improvement
The Kompan name is synonymous with home improvement for northeast Ohio residents. Robert Kompan Sr. started a cement contracting business, Kompan Cement, in 1956. Scott Kompan is the founder of Kompan Home Improvement and the grandson of Robert Kompan Sr. Scott grew up working alongside his Father, Robert Kompan Jr. and Grandfather in the family cement business. Scott recalls being on job sites as early as the age of 7 and beginning to learn what it takes to run a successful business that delivers high quality services.
Growing up in Bay Village, Scott was taught the value of hard work by his family. One of his earliest remodeling jobs came when he decided he would like to paint his bedroom a different color. Aside from the painting job, Scott did other jobs to earn the money to buy the paint himself.
As a teenager, Scott branched off from the cement business and began to learn carpentry and handyman skills. He enjoyed the craftsmanship and a new challenge. Through various jobs, Scott mastered a large set of skills and in 2013, Scott started Kompan’s Home Improvement, a full-service remodeling and general contracting business. The business quickly grew on word of mouth and local advertising.
