This was by far my most challenging job yet— Welding 3/16” square tubing to an 16-gauge car frame took every bit of patience I had.

Bridging the gap between 3/16” steel and 16-gauge sheet metal took careful heat control. I used a stair-step welding technique to spread the heat and tie everything together.
3/16” square tube ➡️ 1/8” angle iron ➡️ 16GA sheet metal.

The articulating head on this Kobelco 140 was rubbing against the ear, preventing a proper fit. Made a quick clearance cut, reworked the ear, and now the skeleton bucket fits and cycles smoothly.

Back to work!

This excavator doesn’t see commercial-level use, and the customer was tired of losing bucket teeth. Instead of replacing pins every time one broke, I welded the teeth to the adapters.

These teeth will likely outlive the machine’s workload, but when the time eventually comes for replacement, cut out the welds and slide on new teeth! Simple, permanent, and no more lost teeth.

This track truck was hauling boulders from a job site, and the tailgate took some damage. The lock mechanism was bent, and the frame cracked in multiple places—filled the cracks, rebuilt/bent the lock mechanism, and welded some angle iron for reinforcement.
