We want to extend a huge thank you to Iron & Pine for putting on such a first-class event. It was an honor for Crawford Electrical Inc. to be a part of a tournament that is about so much more than golf.

Iron & Pine's mission of bringing veterans and active-duty service members together through faith, fellowship, and authentic community is something we deeply respect. The friendships, encouragement, and support they are building make a real difference, and we're grateful for the opportunity to support such an outstanding organization.

The tournament was exceptionally well organized, the course was in great shape, and we had an absolute blast spending the day with everyone. Thank you to the volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who made the event possible.

We're already looking forward to next year's Old North Invitational!

Two weeks out. The board is final.

Last two in: Crawford Electrical and Mikes Farm. Both signed on because of where the money goes — CHEW and Kennedy Home, feeding and housing kids right here in eastern NC.

That’s 17 businesses who put their name on something more than just golf.

And here’s what they’re really backing: too many veterans leave the camaraderie of service for isolation and self-reliance. We’ve learned the hard way that true strength isn’t found in independence — it’s found in community.
That’s why Iron & Pine exists. To pull warriors out of isolation and into shared purpose — bonds forged in the elements, burdens carried together. Every sponsor on this board is part of that.

40 players. Two days. One Champions’ Pot.

🔔 Follow along — we’re running LIVE scoring all weekend, Aug 1–2. You’ll see the whole thing as it happens.

🌧️⚡ Why Does My Breaker Trip When It Rains? ⚡🌧️

If you've noticed that a breaker trips every time it rains, don't ignore it. Rain itself doesn't trip a breaker—but the moisture it introduces can expose an existing electrical problem.

Some common causes include:
💧 Water getting into an outdoor receptacle or electrical box.
💧 A damaged underground wire.
💧 Moisture inside exterior lighting or a junction box.
💧 A faulty GFCI outlet that's been exposed to the elements.
💧 Worn or damaged wiring allowing moisture to create a ground fault.

Your breaker is doing exactly what it's designed to do—shutting off power to help protect your home and reduce the risk of electrical hazards.

⚠️ If a breaker only trips during or after a rainstorm, it's a sign that something needs attention. Avoid repeatedly resetting the breaker without finding the cause, as the problem is likely to return.

🌦️ A small leak or damaged electrical component today can turn into a much larger repair if left unchecked.

📞 If you're dealing with a breaker that trips when it rains, give Crawford Electrical Inc. a call. We'll locate the source of the problem, make the necessary repairs, and help keep your home's electrical system safe and reliable.

⚡ Electrical Tip of the Day: Know Your GFCI Outlet ⚡

Have you ever had an outlet suddenly stop working in your bathroom, kitchen, garage, or outside? Before assuming there's a bigger problem, take a look for a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlet.

A GFCI outlet is designed to help protect you from electrical shock by shutting off power if it detects a ground fault. That's why you'll find them in areas where electricity and water are likely to be close together.

Most GFCI outlets have two buttons:
🔘 TEST – Used to verify the outlet is working properly.
🔘 RESET – Restores power after the outlet has tripped.

If a GFCI outlet trips, simply unplug any connected devices and press the RESET button. If it resets and stays on, you're usually good to go.

⚠️ However, if the GFCI won't reset or continues to trip repeatedly, don't ignore it. That could indicate a wiring issue, moisture intrusion, or a problem with an appliance plugged into the circuit. It's best to have it inspected by a licensed electrician.

💡 Did you know? One GFCI outlet often protects several other outlets downstream. So if multiple outlets suddenly stop working, check for a tripped GFCI before assuming the breaker is bad.

📞 Having trouble with a GFCI outlet or another electrical issue? Give Crawford Electrical Inc. a call today! We're here to help keep your home safe and your electrical system working the way it should.

🌬️ Ceiling Fan Tip: Is Yours Spinning the Right Direction? 🌬️

Did you know that most ceiling fans have a direction switch? It's a small feature that can make a big difference in your home's comfort and energy efficiency.

☀️ Summer Setting:
Set your fan to spin counterclockwise. This creates a cool breeze that helps you feel more comfortable, allowing you to raise your thermostat a few degrees without sacrificing comfort.

❄️ Winter Setting:
Switch your fan to clockwise at a low speed. This gently pushes the warm air that's collected near the ceiling back down into the room, helping your heating system work more efficiently.

💡 Quick Tip: Before changing the direction, make sure the fan is turned off and the blades have come to a complete stop.

A simple flip of the switch can help improve comfort year-round and may even lower your energy costs.

⚡ Need a new ceiling fan installed or an old one replaced? Give Crawford Electrical Inc. a call today! Whether it's indoors, outdoors, or on a high ceiling, we're here to help keep your home comfortable and running safely.

⚡ Why Hiring a Licensed Electrician Matters ⚡

This photo is a perfect example of why you should hire a qualified licensed electrician. Your electrical panel is the heart of your electrical system, and every wire, breaker, connection, and grounding component must be installed correctly to keep your family and property safe.

A panel upgrade or repair isn't just about getting the lights back on—it's about ensuring your electrical system can safely handle today's demands while meeting current electrical codes.

🔌 A licensed electrician will:
✔ Ensure proper grounding and bonding
✔ Verify breaker sizing and wire protection
✔ Follow National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements
✔ Identify potential fire and shock hazards
✔ Obtain permits and inspections when required
✔ Stand behind their work with professional accountability

DIY electrical work or hiring unqualified contractors may save money upfront, but mistakes can lead to electrical fires, damaged equipment, failed inspections, and costly repairs down the road.

When it comes to your home's electrical system, safety should never be a shortcut.

If your panel is outdated, overloaded, or you're planning renovations, have it evaluated by a licensed electrician before problems start.

⚡ Professional electrical work isn't an expense—it's an investment in safety, reliability, and peace of mind.
