JASON VAUGHN (VAUGHN ELECTRIC)

Jason started out in the electric field 23 years ago as a helper, someone who knew nothing about the trade. He was 18 years old, no experience, no tools, no tool belt, and absolutely no knowledge about the trade. As Jason tells his remarkable story of how his talent came to life he had to struggle just to maintain a position within the company, because everyone tried to get him fired, because he knew nothing about electric. Nobody wanted to work with him except one person whom later on came to be known as not only a great friend but a MENTOR in life. Jason never gave up, he worked with Steve daily even working with him after hours just to learn all he could. Within a year he had worked so diligently on maintaining the knowledge and skills of the electric trade that not only was other co workers wanting to now work with him but he received his own service truck. Fast forward 23 years and he has became as I like to call him the ELECTRICIAN GEEK of the trade. He can tell you the state and federal codes without having to research them, he is quick at his trade without mistakes. He does not tolerate clients being taken advantage of, he has became licensed, he has worked in the residential and commercial field to gain even more knowledge. As time has went by he now wants to take his state inspector test to eventually become a state inspector.

So to take a lifetime story and narrow it down to help others, if you are passionate about learning and applying what you know, never let anything step in your way of reaching your dream. Just as Jason did, he never let what others said about him stop him from starting a career that he wanted to do. He rose above the negativity and the words of others that said “HE WAS TO DUMB AND TOO SLOW TO LEARN ELECTRIC.” Now he is one of the best in his field and takes pride in his work and knowledge but most importantly he works with his heart. I have worked with Jason for over a year and as a female working in an office I never thought I would not only be pulling wire, but installing plugs, switches, recess cans, and knowing anything about electricity. Here I am rocking it, but I owe everything I know to Jason. He had faith in me even when I doubted myself, he pushed me to have faith in myself. Jason had patience and never got upset with me for asking tons of questions, lol sometimes they were the same ones over and over but he steadily answered each one and even took the time to show me how to do it. He took what Steve taught him and applied it with me. Not one time has ever told me I COULD NOT DO IT, INSTEAD HE TOLD ME YOU CAN DO IT JUST TAKE YOUR TIME AND THINK IT THROUGH. He has a passion and it shows in every job he completes. He has clients that call him not only their electrician but THEIR FRIEND.
