š Halfway through trade schoolāand excited about whatās coming next for House Mouse Services LLC!
My Facilities Maintenance schooling is giving me more ways to help our senior community, especially with those smaller projects that can be difficult to find someone to take on. A doorknob going through the drywall might seem like a little repair, but it still matters when itās your homeāand finding help can be tough when contractors are booked or have minimum charges that put it out of reach.
Iām learning drywall repair, framing, and how to replace a few damaged tiles at a time. This is an introductory class, so Iām building those skills one step at a time. Iāve also learned epoxy floor coating! Weāve had quite a few requests to paint concrete floors in garages or ADUs being converted into rooms for grandparents, so that lesson connects directly to needs I already see.
My goal is to bring these skills into seniorsā homes while continuing to grow into facilities maintenance. Today, I even did my first estimate for a bathroom remodel in a nursing home!
Iāll be back to business as usual in the middle of November. While school has kept me out of the field more than usual, it has also given me time to sit down with my teams and build a program that works better for all of us.
Thereās a lot of competition in construction, but I see opportunities to bring skilled teams together for projects they might otherwise never be part of. My strength is making those connections through advertising and personal consultationsālistening to the person, understanding their circumstances, and helping put the right people in place. To me, a project starts with someoneās life and needs, long before the numbers go on paper.
Iām so excited to bring this next chapter, and everything Iām learning, into House Mouse. ā¤ļø
Thank you to my community for supporting me through the unusual scheduling, and to the contractors who have been patient with temporary changes in my availability and communication while Iām in school. I would not be where I am today without the support of these teams and the people who continue to believe in me.
