A chandelier’s second life…

Once meant to fill a room with light, this old chandelier now hangs quietly above my kitchen, cradling bundles of sage and garden roses as they dry. Each morning, I add a few more treasures gathered from the homestead—flowers kissed by the sun and herbs fragrant with summer.

There is something enchanting about watching the seasons preserved one stem at a time, transforming an ordinary corner into a little apothecary of memories.

At Shoot for the Moon Homestead, we believe that beautiful things don’t always need to be grand. Sometimes, a forgotten chandelier, a handful of roses, and the herbs from your garden are enough to create a bit of magic.

From soil to braid, every garlic bundle tells the story of life here at Shoot for the Moon Homestead.

Each braid is made by hand using garlic grown right here on our homestead. After harvesting, I carefully clean, dry, and braid every bundle myself, making each one unique.

Decorated with dried flowers from the garden, these rustic braids are both beautiful and practical, bringing a touch of farmhouse charm to any kitchen.

One thing I’m especially proud of is that we don’t use pesticides or chemicals anywhere on our property or in our gardens—just natural, mindful growing from start to finish.

The first garlic braids will soon be available at Counting Stars Market Hall. Thank you for supporting our little homestead and following along on this journey!

Which color flowers would you like to see in future braids?

A Little Update from Shoot for the Moon Homestead

Some of you may have noticed that things have been a little quieter here lately, and I wanted to share what we’ve been working on.

Over the past several months we’ve been busy opening Counting Stars Market Hall, a new local marketplace filled with antiques, collectibles, handmade items, and small businesses.

While Shoot for the Moon Homestead is still very much a part of our lives, many of our days have been spent building this new adventure.

You can currently find a few of our homestead products at the shop, including our fresh eggs, garden amendments, and hand spray. As we continue to grow, we hope to add even more homestead-made products in the future.

For now, Counting Stars Market Hall has become our home base and the place where many of our projects come together.

Thank you for following along on this journey. Whether you’ve supported our plant sales, followed our garden adventures, or cheered us on through new ideas, we appreciate every one of you.

And stay tuned… we have some exciting things planned for the future.

Fresh chive bundles with edible chive blossoms will be available at Counting Stars Market Hall this week

I also have live chive plants available for anyone wanting to grow their own at home.

The edible chive blossoms make a beautiful and flavorful compound butter — simply mix chopped chives and blossom petals into softened butter for an easy spring garden treat.

Delicious on potatoes, eggs, vegetables, bread, steak, and more. Extra butter freezes wonderfully for later use.

Feeling accomplished , l bought this little greenhouse at the end of last summer to add to my obsession with growing plants, it only took me 2 days, a total of 10 hours…😁but I did it! I am not going to lie, it was hard, but I pushed on, I can’t wait to fill it up. I just know that a lot of pics are coming!
