When out of the office traveling:
The ideal candidate will manage their territory by visiting customers weekly with a planned call schedule utilizing an organized sales plan. During these calls the position requires development of a pre-determined sales objective, reviewing sales results with customers, pursuing effective training on products to both the customer and the end user. This candidate should have an ability to understand market trends and customers needs in a given territory. This position also requires that the information they gather be reported into a “Customer Route Planning” program. On occasion, sales associates will be required to attend shows and train customers in other territories when additional help is needed during the year.
When in the office:
The ideal candidate is a competitive self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced environment. You must be comfortable making dozens of calls per day, working with partners, generating interest, qualifying prospects, and closing sales.
Responsibilities:
Actively and consistently prospect and develop new business through cold calling, contacting tradeshow leads, and fostering partner relationships
Prospect call preparation including company background research and other pertinent lead information
Identify customer's buying trends and provide reports to management
Enter, update, and maintain Badger information on leads, prospects and opportunities
Receive and process requests directly from customers (via telephone, fax and mail) for price quotations, product availability, orders, material returns, billing corrections, product information, order changes, and cancellations
Quickly and seamlessly resolve customer complaints and problems
Interpret sales and marketing data and determine effective sales representatives and strategies throughout the customer base
Educate and present both customers and end users about the products we represent.
Work with contractors and dealers for pull-though sales of products we represent this ensures our products has adequate distribution in the assigned market area
Achieve and exceed territory sales goals
Ability to plan personal work schedules and prioritize work tasks and responsibilities
Complete weekly “Sales Productivity Reports”
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
At least 1 or more years of sales experience
Experience with building products is a plus, but training is available at entry level
Strong time management and communication skills are needed
Ability to thrive in fast paced working environment, multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
Extensive travel required throughout designated areas when not in the office for assigned amount of days
Results driven with emphasis on keeping customer and business commitments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
Must be able to communicate and follow-up with co-workers, management, customers and vendors
