🏡 Gettysburg Restoration Update

Another major milestone reached this week!

✅ Media blasting complete
✅ Osborne brushing complete
✅ Pressure washing being completed today

Next up, we’ll be tackling woodpecker damage repairs, bee damage repairs, and final prep work before moving into the staining phase next week.

It’s exciting to see this log home coming back to life one step at a time. Stay tuned as we move into one of the most transformative stages of the restoration process!

20+ years without maintenance… and it showed.

The first photos show severe weathering, UV damage, and dead wood fibers that had built up over decades. After media blasting, the transformation was already dramatic—but the job isn’t finished yet.

At Renew Services, we know that media blasting isn’t always enough. When wood is heavily weathered, we take it a step further with hand sanding and Osborne brushing to remove remaining dead fibers and create the best possible surface for stain adhesion and long-term performance.

Every log home is different, and proper preparation is what separates an average finish from an exceptional one.

Today we’re kicking off another full log home restoration project in beautiful Gettysburg.

This home is receiving a complete exterior restoration, including cleaning, repairs, preservation treatments, and a fresh protective finish to help protect it for years to come. Every log home has a story, and we’re honored to play a part in restoring this beautiful home!

One of the most important — and most overlooked — parts of protecting a log or timber home is routine maintenance washing. Dirt, pollen, mildew, algae, and moisture slowly break down stain systems and can lead to expensive repairs if left untreated.
