**Proud to Finish What Matters for DeSoto Parish**

Hand Construction has been awarded the completion contract for the new DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office.

When we learned this project needed a new contractor to see it through, we knew we wanted to help our neighbors in DeSoto Parish. This facility matters to the deputies who serve there and to the community they protect.

We didn't start this building, but we're committed to finishing it, and finishing it right.

Building costs are climbing, and not by a little.

Producer Price Index data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that prices for inputs to new nonresidential construction rose 11.9% from September 2025 to September 2026. Steel, fuel and metals led the way, and those increases are now showing up in everyday building products and delivery costs. On top of that, many steel suppliers report their order books are full through next spring, so lead times are getting longer.

For anyone planning a building, renovation or expansion, that means budgets and schedules need more attention earlier than they used to.

At Hand Construction, we're working ahead of it. We bring our trade partners in early, look at alternate materials and systems, lock in pricing and long-lead items as early as possible, and look for value at every stage, so our clients get the most out of every dollar.

Hand Construction was proud to support Providence House through BENTELER Steel/Tube’s charity golf tournament last week.

Providence House helps local families with children overcome homelessness and work toward a more stable future.
