Not all chimney flashing is created equal—and it’s not something you can just “make work” with off-the-shelf materials.
What you’re looking at here is custom-bent chimney flashing, fabricated specifically for the structure it’s going on. Every chimney has its own dimensions, pitch, and tie-in points, and getting this right is what separates a temporary fix from a long-term, watertight system.
The real question is:
When something doesn’t look right on a job… will it be recognized?
Will your roofer know the difference between what works and what doesn’t?
Will it be caught before installation?
And just as important—will it be communicated clearly between the field and the project manager so it gets handled the right way?
That level of awareness and communication is what protects your home in the long run.
Details matter. And on a roof, they matter more than most people realize.
If you’ve got questions about your roof or flashing details around penetrations like chimneys, I’m always glad to take a look and give you straight answers.
Warmest regards,
Matt Parmelee
