Adding this extra item (Ice and water shield) will ensure the deck lasts for life, the roof will never leak anywhere the barrier is, and in the rare instances we get ice it will prevent Ice Damming. *Thats when ice gets pulled into your attic and it will destroy your house.

(Whoever you use for your roof tell them you want this pipe boot.)

Pipe boots are the number one cause of leaks.

The one on the left has a neoprene flashsing that will dry rot in ten years on a 30 year roof. The one on the right will last as long as the roof.

The left costs about $6.00 and the one on the right $28.00. We also put a trowel of tar around the pipe before we flash it. It doesn’t cost that much more money to make roof that won’t leak. One that won’t need pipe boots replaced when you go to sell it.

For you agents out there. Most of your claims come from people who call us about a leak and then we find some hail.
