Last night’s rain turned the site into a mess, but the sewer line still had to be replaced! We brought out all the toys today and got to work!

Yesterday’s job was a tricky one! The previous homeowners had the I& I completed for the city. So the chamber and line was already replaced.

The remaining issue was roots under the porch. We planned to install a spot liner, but after struggling to cut the root, we excavated and tunneled under the porch. There we found a root so large it looked like a tree branch and discovered the cast iron pipe had deteriorated along the bottom.

A spot liner fixed the problem, and this homeowner shouldn’t have any more root trouble!

🥵 Boy, was it a hot one today!

This sewer lateral has been giving the homeowners trouble for quite some time. The line runs under a large tree, making it the perfect place for roots invasion. To make matters worse, the old cleanout wasn’t brought up to grade, so anytime the line needed serviced, plumbers had to climb on top of the house and use the vent pipe to gain access.

Today, we removed the old cleanout that was invaded with roots, installed a new accessible cleanout, and lined 98 feet of the existing clay lateral.

The best part? Other than the cleanout area beside the house, the yard was left completely untouched. No trench across the yard and no disturbing that beautiful shade tree—just another troublesome sewer line back in service. 💪🌳🚧

As a small business, our goal every day is simple: get to the job site, do the job right, and get out of your way as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately, sewer and excavation work requires a lot of equipment—a dump truck, trailers, a VAC truck, and service trucks. We know it takes up space, and we never want to inconvenience anyone. That’s why we put out no parking signs ahead of time and even try to speak with neighbors whenever possible.

We always try to be extremely kind because a little kindness goes a long way. We’ve found that when you politely explain the situation, most people are more than willing to help. We also know that many of our jobs come from neighbors and referrals, so the last thing we ever want to do is upset anyone or be a nuisance.

Thankfully, about 80% of people are incredibly understanding. They’ll move a vehicle without hesitation, ask if they are in the way, or even bring us a cold bottle of water on a 95-degree day. We truly appreciate those people more than you know.

Then there’s the other 20%. The ones who refuse to move a vehicle for a few hours, forcing us to close an entire road and inconvenience even more people. We understand it’s your house and your parking spot. We’re simply asking for a little patience and cooperation so we can do our job safely and efficiently.

A little kindness and understanding go a long way—for everyone involved.

Remember, we’re not there because we want to be in your way. We’re there because someone in your neighborhood needs our help. We’ll do our best to be respectful of your property and your time, and we appreciate those who extend that same courtesy to us.

Yesterday’s job consisted of digging up a cleanout outside the building and lining the sewer lateral from the cleanout, underneath the porch, and nearly to the middle of the basement. This is exactly where our lining machine shines—allowing us to restore the pipe with minimal digging and disruption while giving the customer a long-lasting repair.
