👂 Is your AC trying to tell you something?

Your system shouldn’t be making a lot of unusual noise. Three sounds you definitely don’t want to ignore:

🔧 Banging — could mean a loose or damaged component.
🔧 Squealing — may point to a motor or belt issue.
🔧 Hissing — could indicate an air or refrigerant leak.

If your AC suddenly starts making a sound you haven’t heard before, it’s a good idea to have it checked before a small problem becomes a bigger one.

Weeds, leaves, grass clippings, and other debris can build up around your outdoor unit and restrict airflow. When your AC can’t breathe, it may have to work harder to keep your home cool.

Take a few minutes to clear away anything growing or collecting around the unit and give it plenty of open space for airflow.

Water in your auxiliary drain pan? That’s not a good sign.

The auxiliary pan is there as a backup—it shouldn’t normally have water sitting in it. If you notice water collecting there, it could mean there’s an issue with your AC’s primary drainage system.

Don’t ignore it! Catching the problem early can help prevent leaks and potential water damage to your home
