One of my goals for the 2026 growing season is to play more with flowers. I painted a couple of foam boards to use as background for my flat lay and I’m having lots of fun with them so far. I’m excited to explore what more I can do with these beauties.

Hollyhill Leda - I’ve tried to grow her for 3 years with different stocks and she’s finally bloomed this year. Together with Hollyhill Lilibet, Leda is becoming my favorite soft lavender/pink waterlily dahlia

I almost culled Dutch Pearl after such mediocre performance last year, but now I’m glad I kept a few tubers to try again. The form and color have improved so much they are like a different flower altogether. Some varieties really need at least 2 seasons to acclimate to the new environment.

Cheerleader dahlia (1985) in different lights. She didn’t bloom last year for me and I’m hoping she will get more waterlily like and less orange as the season progresses.
