We are working Hard to help restore power to home owners in Sikeston. We are available all day and evening. Permit deadline was 3:00 today but will resume tomorrow morning. If you have any questions or concerns we are a phone call away!

Below are the steps for having power restored due to storm damage:

Have a City licensed Electrician access the damage to citizens electric. (Can check with the City Collector’s office to verify if Electrician has a City license)
Obtain an Electric Permit – Permit application must be signed by owner & contractor must have a valid City license
Permits to repair electric due to storm damage will be no charge. This will be repairing existing service, without major changes.
Inspector will be assigned to permit, contractor should call inspector when ready for inspection
Once inspected and passed, the inspector will submit a tag to BMU
BMU will reconnect power as soon as possible

Note: Citizens that wish to change electric service (i.e. above ground to underground) or relocate/change panel box location will need to obtain and pay for the electric upgrade permit.
