For more than 70 years Ferrell Enterprises at 1505 East Malone Ave in Sikeston, MO has provided the equipment to keep its town and the surrounding areas growing and going. Ferrell originally the business was Ferrell Oil Co. The commercial operation had gas stations in Morehouse Charleston and Sikeston and delivered coal to residences, schools and even the old Coleman Power Plant of Sikeston which

provided electricity for the town. When Frank Ferrell returned to Sikeston form the Air Force he joined his father in the business. Since coal delivery only kept them busy in the winter time the Ferrells began an excavation business in 1948 which was a great decision because in the next 10 years the coal business went downhill. With no worries Ferrell Enterprises had already taken off with their excavation business. Using drag lines and dump trucks which would only move 5 yards of dirt at a time, they stayed steady and true and took pride in their work. Times were finally changing and the use of hydraulics and better innovations in equipment made it easier and more efficient to move dirt. By then Frank Ferrell’s son Steve Ferrell was well on his way to the roll of owner /operator . Steve grew up in the business hauling coal with his father and grandfather to changing the way excavation should be done with excavators, cranes, and more efficient hauling. Steve now with more the 50 years of experience around the business and now Owner of Ferrell Enterprises knows what it takes to get the job done right. With newer equipment through the years and loyal employees to help share his vision of safe and superior work, Ferrell Enterprises continues to grow. Steve’s son Chase Ferrell also grew up in the business, he too now is in the process of helping Ferrell Enterprises grow with 10 years of full time experience.
