Some May be curious if we are still allowed to work during the shutdown. This article helps explain our role as essential services.
However, we are taking steps to ensure the health and safety of our employees including limiting interaction with each other by implementing one man crews. This will allow us to continue to service our clients while continuing to social distance.
We ask the all clients limit their interaction with field employees and call or email the office with questions or concerns!
Thank you and take care!

As states continue to enforce lockdowns or “shelter in place” orders, the NALP shares whether landscape services qualify as essential businesses.

Spring is definitely here in the DC Metro area and now is the time to clean up from winter! Now is the time to cleanup the leaves that may have gotten stuck under shrubs, pull those pesky winter weeds, and put down a fresh layer of mulch. It’s also important to cutback any spent perennials or grasses that didn’t get snipped in the fall. Give me a call for an estimate.
Or maybe you are practicing social distancing at home and want to do some gardening yourself. Comment below with gardening questions and I’ll be happy to help.

Final day in Bethesda:
We finished up the project today by rearranging some containers and adding pansies to some bare areas. These areas will be planted with water loving bog plants in the summer, but for now a pop of color works.

Future design plans are in the works for the bed closest to the house and some front yard additions. We will also be designing low voltage lighting to really showcase the landscape at night.

I want to thank my crew supervisor, Pablo. He has a strong attention to detail and strives to do the right thing for the customer. His right hand man, Jose, is an equally talented crew member. They treat every project as if it was their own. They worked so hard to bring my vision to life!

Bethesda Update 10/29:

Almost finished! We are putting the icing on the cake with new sod. We graded everything with a layer of top soil and then rolled out the tall fescue to give the whole garden a pop!

Today the remainder of the rock was installed and some final touches are being added.

I have had such a great time designing and installing this beautiful new space!

Bethesda update 10/18/19

Happy Friday! We’ve had a busy week in Bethesda getting all the perennials installed. We retooled the entrance from the house into the garden by installing large Pennsylvania Steppers. It softens the entrance and eliminates the trip hazard that existed with the old flagstone landing and small timber wall.

We got our fountain set and level. Next week the electrician will be visiting to get an outlet put in close by so the pump can run. Most of our pathways are set and ready for some final grading and touch up.

I made the decision last week that the small wall we built was just not up to our standards. So today we demolished it, purchased a different wall stone and the new mason will be out on Monday to begin the work. It is hard to make decisions like that sometimes, but I want things to be done properly and look fantastic when we are through! So we start again!

The first phase of this project is wrapping up, but last night we started discussions for the front yard! I truly love working with these clients to enhance the beauty of their property.

Have a great weekend everybody!

Bethesda update 10/16/19

We are in the home stretch of our phase one project. This project has grown from my original design so there are additional phases that will happen over the winter and into the spring.

Today we installed several varieties of perennials and a few more shrubs. The color palette for this garden is purple, white and pink so I chose perennials that reflect those selections. I also varied the bloom times so we have different flowers popping at different times.

Beyond just color from flowers, we want to add interesting foliage into the garden. I chose large varieties of Hosta in blue, gold and green and variegated whites. Adding in pops of purple with a Midnight Rose Heuchera (my favorite!!😍😍) offset by a lime green Cintronelle Heuchera creates a big pop of color.

We have annuals and bulbs left to plant in the next few days. I can’t wait to see this garden in spring bloom!

Lastly we set the basalt column fountain. Everything is coming together!!

Small project in Virginia this morning. Check out my story for the before video. Here’s the after:
New sod replaced the tired old grass. We removed the large granite cobble and replaced with a lower profile brick edge.
Added seasonal fall color and the garden looks fresh again!

Bethesda update 10/8/19

We finally completed the natural stone patio! It looks gorgeous. We are finalizing the small wall detail as well.

We’ve restructured the berm a bit and began planting. Our pathways through the garden are taking shape.

It’s so much fun to see the vision in my head come to life in front of me! This is the part of my job that I love the most.
