For less than 5 dollars you can save yourself the trouble of having to deal with damages to your home and a long battle with the insurance company, by purchasing a cover for your outdoor faucets around your home. Even old rags or insulated foam pipe wraps work just as great. Keep your faucet running indoor at a light drip to prevent your pipes from freezing.

An estimated of 250,000 homes in the United States experience damage from frozen and burst pipes each year, that's a significant number of pipes burst during winter due to freezing temperatures.
When water freezes inside a pipe, it expands, putting pressure on the pipe which can lead to bursting.
How to Prevent it? It's easy!
Proper insulation of pipes in exposed areas like attics and crawl spaces can significantly reduce the risk of frozen pipes.
