Well… here she is in all her glory.
Beautiful kitchen table made from China Fir and an amazing resin pour.
China Fir is in the Cypress family and is extremely rot and decay resistant. It is a softer wood, but very durable.
China Fir (Cunninghamia lanceolata) has been used in common Chinese culture for over 1,000 years and makes up for over 30% of all cultivated lumber in China. It is commonly used for furniture, flooring, construction, and ornamental pieces.
For me… it’s a kitchen table!
This bad boy is finished with 2 coats of Rubio Monocoat, a very high end hard wax oil. For additional protection, 4 total coats of N3 Nano coat were applied. This is a ceramic finish designed specifically for wood. This will provide a super durable finish while not taking away from the natural look of the lumber.
Paired the beautiful table top up with some incredible black metal legs, powder coated for additional protection.
Tons of work, but satisfying to say the least. Can’t wait to enjoy years and years of meals and family time at this table.
