Episode 1168 gave us something I wasn’t expecting… a completely different side of Shamrock.
Instead of hating Shanks, he almost seems… confused.
He genuinely can’t understand why his own twin brother would abandon the Holy Land, reject the Celestial Dragons, and choose a life of freedom on the seas. To me, it feels like a part of Shamrock always believed Shanks would eventually come back.
But what if Oda is setting us up for one of the saddest moments in the Final Saga?
We’ve already seen hints that Imu can place mysterious marks on people and potentially control or influence them. Shamrock has that same mark, which makes me wonder… what if he doesn’t even have complete control over his own actions anymore?
Imagine the Final War forcing Shamrock to fight Shanks—not because he wants to, but because Imu leaves him no choice.
That would make this so much more than just an epic fight. It would be two brothers who walked completely different paths. Shanks chose freedom and inherited Roger’s will. Shamrock stayed behind, tied to the World Government and possibly trapped by Imu’s control.
If these two finally cross swords, I don’t think it’ll be because they hate each other. It’ll be because one brother was free to choose his destiny… and the other never truly was.
If Oda is really building toward this, Shanks vs. Shamrock could end up being one of the most emotional battles in all of One Piece.
🔥 What’s your prediction? Do you think Shamrock is acting on his own free will, or has Imu already taken that choice away?
