When Sioux Falls Christian School reached out needing extra parking before the start of school, we knew time was tight, but that didn't mean cutting corners.
When our crew arrived on the lot, we quickly noticed a problem: the area where parking was needed sat below the waterline, with surrounding runoff ponds that would have made a standard paving job a short-term fix at best.

So before we ever laid asphalt, our team got to work engineering a real solution. We poured drainage dips and designed curb and gutter specifically to hold back water and drain the lot properly whether it's rain or snowmelt.

This is what we mean when we say we build for the long term. Any contractor can pave a parking lot. We're in the business of solving the problems underneath it, so our customers get something that lasts.

Proud of our crew for spotting the issue and engineering a solution that will serve Sioux Falls Christian School for years to come.

Our concrete crews have been hard at work establishing sidewalk, curb, and gutter at Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center main campus.
As Journey Group continues making progress on the Women's & Children's Tower, our Black-Top Paving team is laying the foundation, literally, for the first impression patients and families will have as they step out of their vehicles and take their next step toward better health.
A well-built sidewalk or curb might seem minor, but it's often the first thing someone experiences on what can be some of the most important days of their lives.

Our mission is to positively impact lives by building community, and that's exactly what we got to do for the City Offices of Harrisburg, South Dakota.
Our crew was out paving neighborhood streets, delivering a better living experience for residents and connecting homes to their city. It's easy to talk about mission and values, but there's nothing like watching that mission become a physical reality right in front of you.

Black-Top Paving President, Ryan Kerkvliet, took members of our office team out to visit a job site for Ophthalmology LTD, a long-time client of Journey Group. It was a great opportunity for our office staff to see firsthand the work our field teams do every day.

At Black-Top Paving, we believe that serving our customers well starts with serving each other well. Whether someone's out on a job site or working behind the scenes in the office, every role plays a part in delivering for our clients. Getting our teams together, in person and on-site, helps us understand each other's work, build stronger relationships, and ultimately provide better service to the partners who trust us.
