As wood floor professionals, we’ve worked with many types of finishes over the years — and some require a lot more upkeep than others.

The first photo shows a floor finished with a popular oil product. While these oils can look nice at first, in our experience they tend to require frequent maintenance to keep them looking their best.

The second photo shows a classic finish done with Pallmann products. We’ve found Pallmann finishes stay clear, hold up beautifully in high-end homes, and keep floors looking timeless without constant touch-ups.

Pallmann even makes a product called Magic Oil — but unlike many other oils on the market, it performs more like a true floor finish should.

We choose products based on how they perform for our clients over time — because your floors should look just as stunning years from now as they do the day they’re finished.

We started this restoration a year ago with all the tearout and replacing severely damaged areas with new maple and then waited while they finished up framing and putting in new windows. We came back in this month and started sanding.Today we got the stain and first coat of finish down. It has definitely been a long process but turned out great.
