Your garbage disposal works hard, but it isn't invincible. To keep it running smoothly & avoid a messy jam:

✅ Feed food scraps slowly into disposal.
✅ Run it often, at least once a week.
✅ Avoid putting fibrous foods in the disposal. Stringy pieces in celery, onion skins, corn silk, artichokes & asparagus can wrap around motor parts.
✅ Don’t put any starchy foods in the disposal. Potato peels, rice, bread & pasta can turn into a paste or swell up & block the mechanism.
✅ Never drop hard objects like bones or fruit pits in a garbage disposal.

Pro tip: Toss a few ice cubes down occasionally to help clean the blades! Wipe down the top & underside of the rubber splash to keep it from smelling.
