That FIRST STEP! (is a Doozie)
Somehow this very badly built entrance
got past the building inspector. The porch
platform is 18” above the sidewalk and the builders had this devided into two badly
mismatched steps, one 6” and one a whopping 12”!
I suggested to the client that we modify this into three comfortable six inch steps. We chose to use one-piece granite step-treads
fourteen inches deep resulting in comfort, safety and good looks.
