On Friday, June 12th, H&K fired up the grill at Chalfont Quarry & Asphalt. Employees and customers were served hot dogs, hamburgers, and light refreshments along with t-shirt giveaways. Our next scheduled grill day will be at Dagsboro Stone Depot in Dagsboro, DE on July 27th.

H&K’s Pikes Creek Division and Structures Division have made significant progress at the P3 I-81 Susquehanna project. Located in Susquehanna County, PA, the project includes the full reconstruction of ten (10) miles of I-81 at the northernmost part of the roadway in Pennsylvania. Work has been nearly completed on the southbound side with almost all work occurring on the northbound side now. Scope of work includes the reconstruction of five (5) bridges, one (1) box culvert, milling of pavement to concrete base for replacement, rock wall scaling, drainage improvements, demolition and paving. H&K crews and subcontractors have been moving at a steady pace to finish the project on schedule.

We’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate Prestige Color, Inc. of Lancaster, PA on recently receiving a Franklin Award for the printing, bindery and overall presentation of From The Ground Up by John B. Haines IV.

This beautifully presented, coffee table-style book was recognized in the Book/Booklets – Offset – Hardcover category at the Neographics Masterpieces in Print Awards Gala, hosted by the Print & Graphic Communications Association (PGCA) on May 14, 2026, at The Switch House in Philadelphia.

PGCA provides business support services and industry connections to the paper, print, packaging and mailing communities throughout New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.

Congratulations again to Glenn Buckman and the entire team at Prestige Color, Inc.; John B. H&K was proud to be back on the track at world-famous Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, PA, installing H&K’s 2026 pit wall graphics ahead of race weekend on June 12th, 13th and 14th.

Fans can look forward to a thrilling triple-header weekend featuring the ARCA Menards Series, NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, and NASCAR Cup Series as some of the biggest names in motorsports take on the "Tricky Triangle."

A huge thank-you to Roger Green and the entire Pocono Raceway team for their continued partnership and support, and to Darren and Alex of H&K’s Austin Graphics team for producing and installing the impressive pit wall graphics.

Special recognition also goes to H&K’s PR/Marketing team for their creative vision as we proudly showcase H&K’s "Paving Prominence" on the national stage.

This month, we are proud to feature a photo from Nate D. of Plumstead Quarry. Here is what he had to say about the photo: "With aggregate demand at an all-time high, Plumstead Quarry, a proud Naceville Materials, JV (H&K and Naceville Materials, Inc.) partnership company, invested in a new Caterpillar 990 wheel loader. The wheel loader’s first day in service was on the day this image was taken, and is shown here ripping into a fresh shot from a blast earlier in the week. So far, the machine has been a great addition and has significantly increased production at Plumstead Quarry!"

Haines & Kibblehouse, Inc. (H&K, Inc.) has several active airside projects at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). Projects include the Rehabilitation of Taxiway P, Package 2, Reconstruction of Taxiway S, Package 2, and Rehabilitation of Runway 9R-27L, Package 2.

The work on Taxiway P required a nightly closure and reopening of the taxiway each morning. To meet the schedule required by PHL, our Zimmerman Industries Volumetric Mixer truck was utilized to place concrete. H&K, Inc. used the mixer to place rapid set concrete in electrical trenches for new in-pavement airfield lighting, and demolition of old infrastructure.

Phase 1a of the Taxiway S Reconstruction, Package 2, project was within the Runway Safety Area (RSA) which required nightshift work and a full closure of Runway 9L-27R. This project involves full depth demolition and reconstruction of Taxiway S. To mitigate loading on the subsoils and ensure a strong subbase for the new taxiway, this project required the use of Ultra Lightweight Foamed Glass Aggregate (ULFGA) from Aero Aggregates of North America. Once the ULFGA was installed H&K, Inc. utilized a Caterpillar 12M3 to grade P-209 stone to prepare for paving.

9R-27L Rehabilitation, Package 2, is the second runway project awarded to H&K, Inc. at PHL. This project is broken up into multiple phases that involve demolition of existing and reconstruction of new high-speed taxiways, mill and overlay of existing taxiways, drainage and electrical upgrades, and full width resurfacing of 9R-27L. H&K, Inc. mobilized in May and started milling the existing S10 and S9 taxiways to prepare for the reconstruction of the new high speed S8 taxiway. Mattiola Services was also mobilized to begin core drilling for new in-pavement taxiway centerline lights.

We are excited to play a part in the upgrades on the airfield and thankful for continuing to work with PHL.

H&K’s Structures Division completed a second deck pour on the Keim Street Bridge project, located in Pottstown, PA, on Friday, May 22nd. The first pour was completed on Monday, May 18th. Once the deck pours are finished on this side of the bridge, the Structures team will move to the other side of the river to begin demolition of the two remaining old spans. Thanks goes out to Silvi Materials for providing the concrete for the project and Forcine Concrete & Construction Co. for the pump truck to place the concrete.
