Early in the morning and late at night, I can find Gabe sitting at our table putting estimates together for our customers. If I can think of anyone who has every reason to take a shortcut, it’s him. He’s up late, up early, and constantly balancing our three kids under the age of four who always want their daddy's attention. His phone rings non-stop, and he is always on the go.

Yet, Gabe has never used AI a single time to write an estimate. He could easily throw everything into ChatGPT to spit out a quick proposal. Instead, he stays up long after the house goes quiet, hand-mapping exactly where each plant should go, choosing the right varieties for the right spots, and using his genuine creativity to build the perfect landscape that fits each specific yard.

Geaux Gibbs never takes the easy way out, especially when it comes to our clients. When you get an estimate from us, you’re getting the real deal!

A little family update from us.
This morning we said goodbye to our sweet Blue, who has been by our side through the entire journey of building Geaux Gibbs Landscaping. We’re incredibly grateful to Dr. Pelligren and the entire team at Pelican Veterinary Hospital for the compassion and care they showed her over the past several months, and for helping her pass peacefully today.
Thank you to everyone who has shown support for our family. We appreciate you more than you know.❤️🐾

Plant Spotlight: Hosta ✨

Hostas are a classic shade-loving perennial that bring lush texture and vibrant foliage to Louisiana landscapes. Their large leaves come in shades of green, blue-green, gold, and variegated patterns, making them a great choice for brightening shady garden beds and creating contrast among other plants.

In Louisiana, hostas perform best in areas protected from the harsh afternoon sun. They thrive beneath trees, along shaded walkways, and in garden beds that receive consistent moisture. While many plants struggle in the shade, hostas provide reliable color and structure throughout the growing season.

During the summer, hostas send up tall flower stalks with delicate blooms that attract hummingbirds and other pollinators. As a perennial, they return year after year, bringing even more beauty to the landscape as they mature.

Plant Spotlight: Coleus ✨

Coleus is one of the easiest ways to add bold color and texture to your landscape. Loved for its vibrant foliage in shades of deep burgundy, lime green, pink, red, and orange, this fast-growing plant thrives in Louisiana’s warm, humid climate.

Whether planted in flower beds, borders, pots, or hanging baskets, coleus brings season-long color with very little maintenance. Many newer varieties can handle both sun and shade, making them a versatile favorite for adding contrast and dimension to any outdoor space.

In Louisiana landscapes, coleus shines from spring through fall and pairs beautifully with ferns, caladiums, begonias, and tropical plants.
