Last week elizabeth, Flynn Stewart-Severy, Eric Sechrist & NAV design attended the Design + Honor Awards hosted by AIA Colorado. F&M Architects took home a Design Award of Merit for their Riverbank House project in Aspen, CO
F&M has been working with the owners since 2017, and in addition to the architecture, also provided and coordinated the interiors of the home. Nestled on the banks of the Roaring Fork River, this project was required to comply with the City of Aspen's stream margin requirements, and also required approval by the Board of Adjustments for some setback variances. The end result is a design that met both formal and programmatic program requirements and allows the home to be fully enveloped within the riparian ecosystem. The residence is thoughtfully designed to age naturally within its environment, as it's integral gardens mature, and its exterior materials of steel and thermally modified timber beautifully patina over time.
