‼️NRV FOLKS‼️ Looking for a forever home for this sweet calico kitty! She showed up at a client's not too long ago and they've been taking care of her (I think a her?) since.
🤍 She is SO SWEET and actually let me hold her the second time I picked her up. Her ideal home would probably be one where she could be outside as we expect she's lived her whole life outdoors. She is very affectionate + loving, but also can occupy herself while you're doing tasks.
😺 Her size leads me to believe she was born this spring as she's still quite small, but doing better thanks to the support of our client 🙏🏼

Today is PURPLE 💜
👑 The color of royalty, elegance, & luxury. These flowers contain the same pigment that purple foods have that give them their natural antioxidant properties - Anthocyanins- Reducing oxidative stress, this pigment is important for brain and heart health🪻 In the garden, purple flowers are highly visible to pollinators and, if you can believe it, act as a sunscreen for the plant as it absorbs UV radiation.

💥 Welcome to day 3 of choosing the ~IMPOSTOR~ among the natives. 
Today is YELLOW 🟨
☀ The color of the sun and often associated with happiness, friendship, optimism, energy, & intellect. Color theory tells us when matched with purple you're destined to have a killer combo. A common color in nature and common in the garden, regardless of the pairing!

💫 Welcome to day 2 of choosing the ~IMPOSTOR~ among the natives!
Today is PINK 🩷
🪄 Pink is tricky because sometimes it's a little white, a little purple. Sometimes the colors change after pollination. No seriously, the wisdom & co-evolution built into plants and their pollinators is mind-blowing 🤯 One day it's one color, and the next day the flower is communicating that its needs have been met, so no energy is wasted for the pollinators. Imagine if us humans were that visibly transparent LOL

👋🏼 Hey, Friends! We're well on our way thru Summer and no doubt there have been plenty of flowers this year that have already caught your eye 👀
💡 Figured we could play a little game this week. I'll post some pictures of some all time favorite native plants (photographed at clients') and you tell us the "impostor" -- which one isn't a full native? Winner earns all bragging rights.  Today the color is RED 🔴

📸 It's been a while since we last connected so here are some fun snapshots from 2025! What an honor it's been to experience so many amazing places while serving the New River Valley.

📍Since founding in 2022, Planetary Produce has allowed me to collaborate with professionals of varying specialties, witness impactful moments between clients and their landscapes, and [showcased here] find myself in gorgeous, whimsical moments on the daily -- whether in gardens, fields, farms, even river + creekside!

Did you know it's National Invasive Species Week? We have a handful in Virginia. Here are some great ways to keep these unwelcome visitors at bay 💪🏼
