I cannot give my crews enough credit for the work they accomplished today.
They started at 6:00 a.m. and completed a 34-square, two-layer roof tear-off and replacement by 7:00 p.m.—all while working in nearly 100-degree temperatures and an even higher heat index.
To put the conditions into perspective, I took my kids to the water park for a couple of hours this afternoon, and during that short time, eight lifeguards had to be transported by ambulance for heat-related issues.
We told our crews to take the day off due to the heat but they opted to work. Our roofing crew completed the roof, while our siding crew removed approximately 6,000 square feet of siding, installed house wrap, and installed roughly 1,500 square feet of new siding.
Proud of the hard work, toughness, and dedication these crews showed today. I’ll post better drone photos next week. The whole home is also house wrapped, but this was the picture I had in my phone.
We also ensured they had plenty of drinks to stay hydrated and a nice lunch.
