I came across this today; this is a pool pump installed on the exterior of property with Romex being used instead of a properly conduited wires and the bonding wire wasn't attached.

This was not a homeowner install this was done by a pool company.

Please don't use Romex to install your pool pump.

And the pool bonding wire is not only for safety but it's also there to protect your equipment from galvanic corrosion. Make sure its attached.

Pool pump leaks, can start small but have have big expensive consequences. This pump not only has a leak, but it has a cracked seal plate. Small leaks like this eventually can lead to costly repairs. There's more to restarting a closed pool than just adding water. This customers main drain was full of gravel and sand. Also both the skimmers and pump screens had rotted out and needed to be replaced.

Had the customer fired up the pump, without having called me. It may have resulted in an expensive pump repair or rebuild.

There is more to your pool than pH😃 and Chlorine.
