Another day on the job. Who would have ever thought I would be standing here figuratively and literally? Only by God’s grace is it that I have made it this far.
Many of you might remember when four years ago my parent’s house caught on fire. Many items were lost that day, but others were gained. I gained the confidence to be the General Contractor in rebuilding my family’s home. Not only that, but I was able to build it keeping in mind their wants and needs. It was the motivation I long sought for in attempting to attain my contractor’s license. Although I had about 20 years of experience, there was yet more to learn.
I studied for months before attempting to take the exam. On the day of the exam, I was one of the last people to finish. I was so nervous! Given the exam was digital, the results came in within a few minutes. And once again God had lent me a hand. The exam consisted of two parts: the legal & the trade sections. There was a lady in charge of rescheduling for those who didn’t pass one or both sections. As she approached me she asked when I would like to reschedule.
I looked at her confused and replied “I passed.”
She then asked “Which one?”
“Both” I answered.
“Both?” She asked in disbelief.
“Yes” I reassured.
She then congratulated me and stated only about 1% passed both exams on the first try. I did not go home and check the accuracy of her statistics, but it did tell me a lot.
I do not say this to exalt me in any way, but yes to share God’s grace upon me. 🙏🏽
And this has only been the beginning of .
